The Tiles in an American Set
A standard set holds 152 tiles across four groups. The faces below are the same ones used on the game table.
Number Suits
108 tilesDots, Bams and Craks each run 1 to 9, four copies of every tile. Faces carry Arabic numerals, and the 1 Bam shows a bird.
Honor Tiles
28 tilesFour winds marked E, S, W and N, plus Red (R), Green (G) and White (Wh) dragons, four copies of each.
Flowers
8 tilesSpring, Summer, Autumn and Winter with Plum, Orchid, Chrysanthemum and Bamboo. American play treats all eight as one functional group.
Jokers
8 tilesWildcards that stand in for almost any tile to finish a set, but not for a pair or a single.
